SIM card constantly turning off, saying inactive/invalid?

My phone has been saying ‘no sim’, ‘inactive sim’, etc, nearly every hour. My small fix has been restarting my phone or turning on airplane mode for awhile, but I can’t deal with it like this forever.

How do I fix this? I’ve contacted my carrier— turns out I had a SIM lock, but even after I got it unlocked and factory reset my phone, it’s still saying no sim. My iMessage is also saying ‘waiting for activation’, if that matters.

How do I stop it from randomly having problems with my sim?

iPhone 12 mini, iOS 18

Re-seat the SIM, and test again.

Get a replacement SIM from your carrier, or migrate the SIM to eSIM if your iPhone supports eSIM.

Then failing that, contact Apple Support.
