Why is my MacBook Air M2 over heating and lagging when coding?

I bought my M2 air a month ago. I was happy with it but I started my classes again and I started using Anaconda for python and R studio. Today I was using it for the first time to code and my whole laptop started over heating. It started lagging way too much and then the battery just started draining. The apps were taking too long to load and everything. I mean I do not expect it from an almost $1k laptop.

Your MacBook Air M2 is overheating due to intensive tasks. Here's what to do:

  1. Check Activity Monitor: Quit high CPU usage apps.
  2. Update Software: Ensure macOS, Anaconda, and R Studio are updated.
  3. Close Unused Apps: Minimize background processes.
  4. Improve Cooling: Use on a flat surface or a cooling pad.
  5. Reset SMC: Shut down, hold Shift + Control + Option + Power for 10 seconds, restart.
  6. Check Battery Health: System Settings > Battery > Battery Health.
  7. Contact Apple: If overheating persists, get it checked.

This should help control the issue.
