How to tell if my iPhone has a virus or has been hacked

I keep having strange troubles

like , non responsive commands to Siri , and then the answer disappears once I do get it! And why does Siri only go to google? It’s now incapable of going to my default browser! And I know my info is going to the dark web ! They send me messages with my info and want money!

If you get messages out of the blue saying that your phone has viruses, that your computer has been hacked, or some such, these would be, in the words of another long-time poster, "scams presented by criminals."

Computers and phones can have security vulnerabilities, but criminals have found that it is considerably easier to target the person operating the computer or the phone, by sending packs of lies which panic intended victims so much that those victims compromise their own security. They send scam messages to millions of people, hoping that a few will fall for the lies, and give them a payday they did nothing to deserve.

The odds of your iPhone being hacked are nearly impossible. There are no known viruses that can affect your iPhone. The only way being jail breaking, where they must have your iPhone and Apple Account login for some time. Ignore the scam attempts you are receiving.

There are no viruses in the wild that can infect an iphone that has not been jailbroken.

Your phone has not been ‘hacked’. Though it is not completely impossible, it is extremely expensive to do so. The tools necessary are held almost exclusively by repressive governments and intelligence agencies.

Unless you’re a dissident in a country with an authoritarian government, a drug lord, or something similar, you’re not worth hacking.

As for some of your information going to "the dark web", it is very likely that some has. But that doesn't mean that the criminals got it from your phone or your computer. The computers that big companies, government agencies, schools, etc. operate are tempting targets for criminals, because some of them hold information about thousands, or even millions, of people. Criminals will go to some effort to break into those computers, so that they can make off with all of that information at once.

To take just one example, I remember there being a case many years ago where criminals broke into the servers belonging to a clothing store (T.J. Maxx) and got over 40 million credit and debit card numbers in that way.
