Unable to unlock previous iPhone after transferring data

Transferred 12pm to 16pm, no dramas. Tried to open old phone. Wanted a passcode. Passcode didn’t work. Deleted 12 off my list of devices on 16pm, thinking it will clear the 12pm. Still no luck can’t open old phone (to hook up to family account for son) Hope this makes sense

Removing your iPhone from Find My does not take off the Passcode prompt. It only removes the Activation Lock, which you do not want.

Instead, review this article to reset your passcode.
