Wrist detection and workout auto-pause issue on Apple Watch Series 6

I have been have issues for a while (2years) with my Apple Watch constantly pausing my workout. I will begin my workout and as soon as I put my arm down it pauses.i have to press resume just to repeat this multiple times.

I ended up not wearing it for the last two years since there is no point if it can’t record my workout.

I have troubleshooted the following:

  • Auto Pause is OFF
  • I have reset my watch and updated both my phone ( Apple 13 pro Max ) and watch with latest software.
  • I cannot see any wrist detection option, under “General”
  • watch band is snug to my wrist

anyone have any suggestions?

Are you flexing your wrist or wearing gloves?

You may be pausing the watch by pushing in the crown and side button.

If so reverse the watch and wear the crown towards your elbow instead.

You would change the orientation from your watch app on your iPhone under General.

Dude I’m having the same issue with my series 7. I had auto pause turned off, pause by pressing the crown and side button turned off, wrist detection turned on, restarted the watch multiple times. But ever since this recent update iOS 11 it randomly keeps pausing every couple of seconds.

It got so bad I smashed it while doing squats this morning.

I remember when Apple products just worked, their quality control has plummeted in recent years.
