Moving continents. Power cord change?

I am moving from Europe to the US. I know my early '08 imac 21" works with a normal plug adapter, but is there any advantage to be gained by getting a new (replacing the European) power cord or is that superfluous?

However, generally speaking, a European computer (unless double-insulated) would typically use a moulded power cord set with a grounded/earthed AC plug (different depending on the exact country). A normal plug adapter for another country may not always be able to transfer the ground/earth connection from a grounded/earthed wall socket. That could be a good reason to buy a new power cord set locally.
