I logged off and restarted my 2017 iMac. When I tried to log in (to either account) I can't enter a password to get back in. My keyboard works just fine on another computer. I have restarted the iMac several times, moved the usb to other slots, nothing has worked. What can I try?

Did you try to start up in Safe mode if it solve your issue?
Start up your Mac in safe mode – Apple Support (AU)
If it doesn't help, try to run Apple Diagnostics if it reports USB related error.

Thank you! I was able to add my password once I started in Safe Mode, and then I restarted not in safe mode and it is still working! Might you have any idea why this happened, so I don't do it again? Or why Safe Mode fixed the issue?
