You should try a Force Restart.
- Press and quickly release the volume up button.
- Press and quickly release the volume down button.
- Press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo

Then if that doesn’t rectify your issue, you should go back to wherever you purchased this new iPhone to return or exchange it as it could possibly be defective.
