I recently bought Magic keyboard (new) that I connected to my MacBook Pro 14" M1 and from the very start FN keys aren't working, as well as input selector key. I tried to see if it was a layout issue but I couldn't find any problems with that. Anybody had similar problem?

Actually I did solve it - and the solution was simple: I updated to the latest version of OS and the keyboard started functioning properly. But before that I went to a shop where I bought it and tried on an iMac; after it worked there flawlessly, it became obvious that something was "wrong" with my Mac... and the first step was to update iOS. Luckily, that step was also the last :-)

Yes, it would be extremely unusual for a new keyboard to be damaged. Can you try it with another machine somewhere, or try yet another external keyboard with your MacBook?
If all the keys on your internal keyboard work correctly, I would suspect damage to the external one. I don’t know of any settings that would affect them differently.
Thanks Tom but the keyboard is brand new, couple of days old and hasn't suffered any damage since unpacked. Plus all other keys work just fine. And, one more thing: ESC and lock keys, which are in the same top row, work normally. And F11 is the only key that performs action, bringing up desktop (i.e. hiding all the active windows). Strange...
The same issue here. I have a generic bluetooth keyboard (logitech) that works just fine. But the BRAND NEW Apple keyboard's function keys are behaving just the way liubomir describes. MacBook Pro, Ventura.
