QuickTimePlayer.exe-Entry Point Not Found

The procedure entry point CFUniCharGetNumberOfPlanesForUnicodePropertyData could not be located in the dynamic link library QTCF.dll

That one is most commonly caused by an old copy of QTCF.dll lurking in a non-standard location on the PC.

Looking in the most likely spots for it.

In Computer, open your C drive (or whichever drive your operating system is installed on).
Open the Windows folder.
*If you have a 32-bit Windows 7,* open the System32 folder.
*If you have a 64-bit Windows 7,* open the SysWOW64 folder.

Can you see a QTCF.dll in there? If so, drag it out to the desktop. Try launching QuickTime again. Does it launch without the error message this time?

Try right-clicking your QuickTime Player and selecting "Run as Administrator". Is it able to launch without the entry point error, then?

(Checking here on a rarish sort of permissions issue, since if you had the normal sort of QTCF.dll issue, iTunes wouldn't launch either.)

I am having the same 'Entry Point Not Found' problem as above. I have only one QTCF.DLL on my system. It is located in C:\Program Files (x86)\QuickTime\QTSystem and the version number is 7.6.8 (1675). My QuickTime.exe is the same version. iTunes.exe version is 10.0.1.22. The system is Windows 7 64-bit Ultimate.

iTunes works and I can even view mpeg4 videos within iTunes. If I try to open QuickTime Player, I get the Entry Point Not Found error continuously until I kill the process for QuickTime. I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes/QuickTime several times.

Any new suggestions?
