Audio distortion during calls with AirPods Pro 2 and Media Assist on iPhone 11

After running through the hearing test and setting things up, music and podcasts work fine. However, I get a strange digital distortion during calls. it's like a stutter every few words from the incoming calls. Turning off Media Assist stops the issue, but that obviously turning off the hearing enhancements as well. 🤔

Also worth noting....my voice seems a bit distorted in a different way...audio is clipped.

Someone had posted about this a while back, but the thread went inactive.

I saw another thread, reporting a similar issue with Media Assist and the AirPods Pro:

You should all let Apple know directly about this problem by using the Feedback link. Since Apple can not be reached by posting here, this is the only way to make them aware of such issues.

Reporting back on resetting...if anything, it's worse. 🤔 Further, turning off "Adjust Calls and FaceTime." I'm thinking maybe there's an issue with older phones that are supposedly compatible.

(As a side note, resetting meant re-doing my hearing test. This gave me "better" results, meaning I'm getting less effective hearing assist...I'll have to run it through again and try to get back to where I was before resetting! 🙄)
