Constant recovery mode on iPhone after iOS 18 update

Hi everyone,

I was finding the ios updates tough on my phone lately as they were requiring 11GB free storage so I googled and found that updating via itunes on my laptop would be better. I created a back up thankfully and the download of ios18 took a really long time and then while updating my phone crashed, went into recovery mode and wouldn't hard reset. I have tried every variation of hard reset buttons, I have tried to update/restore about 20 times for the last 4 days, I've uninstalled and installed itunes, made sure I'm up to date on the itunes updates, tried Apple Updates. Tried itunes without apple updates installed. Tried apple updates with itunes uninstalled. I changed to hot spot from the wifi, changed the cable. I tried downloading a programme that would hard restore my phone - but nothing is working. Can anyone help please? I get as far as the software download has happened, the software has been extracted, itunes is preparing to restore my phone, the apple comes on my phone, then the progress bar and then it crashes. Again and again and again.
