Headphones not functioning properly because of usb c port

Hello !

Wanted to make this post to see if anyone is experiencing the same issue.

I got my iPhone 15 pro max about a year ago and have noticed that over time when I plug my headphones in to the usb c port that over time the headphones are sitting looser and looser in the port itself. Recently, the issue has developed in such a way that my headphones will only produce audio in the left ear and not the right ear unless I hold the cable into the port and angle the cable funky. I thought maybe it could be my headphones but they work just fine when I use them on my laptop.

The headphones I'm using are Koss Porta Pros attached to a usb c to 3.5mm apple brand dongle. Like I said the headphones work perfectly when used on other devices just not my phone.

Thanks !

iPhone 15 Pro Max, iOS 18

Have you tried a different adapter to see if the one you have is the problem? If another adapter has the same problem, you may need to clean the USB port. See:

If that doesn't help, then you may need to take your iPhone to an Apple Store or authorized service center and have them see if the port is damaged.
