unable to access Facebook from my MacBook Air

I cannot log onto Facebook from a web browser on my MacBook Air. Initially I received the message that my password was wrong. I then selected "Forgot Password," and was offered a code by text or email. I selected text but never received a code. I then selected email and received a code but on submitting it I was told my code was wrong. I went back and selected email for a code several more times. Each time, I received an email but the code was always the same and, each time, I got the message saying my code was wrong. I can access Facebook using the app on my phone. I tried clearing my cache, and the first time I submitted for a code, I received a new code but I was still told that the code was wrong. Please advise.
