No option to end route on Apple Maps

When I open the Apple Maps application I see directions to wherever my previous trip was, but there’s no option to end the current route/enter a new destination. Usually there’s a card that pops up at the bottom of the screen to add stops, end route, etc.

To reproduce:

Get directions to a location in Apple Maps —>

Close out of Apple Maps without ending the route you just got directions for —>

Reopen Apple Maps and that route you got directions for will still be there with no way to end it.
