Vertigo after wearing air pods

Just got the air pods for Christmas and I was wearing my air pods to bed to listen to my calm music and three days ago had to go to ER for vertigo. I never had vertigo before so I didn’t know what was wrong with me. After CT scan, EKG, blood tests… Dr said it’s just vertigo. I won’t be using my air pods anymore. 🙁

No, I didn’t mention the air pods to the Dr since I just thought of it and happened to see on other posts here that others have the same issue after using active noise cancelling headphones. I just googled vertigo air pods and saw numerous posts about it. I’m healthy but because it caused my blood pressure to sky rocket to over 200, the doctors took extraordinary precautions I assume. (Treated me as a stroke case) I will try to use them without the noise cancelling feature.

Always give your doctor all of the information you can, especially about things that have changed. You might want to follow up with your doctor the next time you see them. Also, high blood pressure can cause dizziness. Sounds like your doctor took all the right steps.

You can find anything on the internet if you search. Bet you could find people saying that being abducted by aliens gave them vertigo! ;-)

I would try using them with and without ANC when you're at home and not moving about too much. See what happens.

It could be "just vertigo" and nothing to do with your AirPods. Vertigo frequently has no obvious cause. I've had it on and off my whole life and no one knows why. However, as I'm otherwise healthy, it's not an issue. Did your doctor think that the AirPods had anything to do with it?

However, AirPods are not really designed to be worn all night in bed. I can't imagine that being good the climate in your ear canals.
