CMM is considered malware by most experienced users on these forums. I (and I'm sure you will find many others) STRONGLY suggest that you uninstall CMM per the developers instructions, that is unless you don't mind Mac OS being slow, acting buggy (much like it is now), and generally being unstable! I also believe it is the source of the problem you posted about.
After you have uninstalled CMM per the developers instructions, please restart the computer in Safe Mode and then restart normally and test. Moving forward, please never ever install any of the types of apps I asked about in my first post. Why, Mac OS does EVERYTHING these apps purport to do which means they are 100% worthless!! All Mac OS needs in order to stay secure, quick and stable is simply keep it up to date and restart your computer about 1x per week. Other than that, please leave Mac OS alone.
If you search these forums for CleanMyMac you will find thousands of posts from users that have similar issues, uninstalling CMM completely usually restores Mac OS to being stable and reliable however in rare situations Mac OS must be re-installed to repair itself from the damage these types of apps cause.
