iPad Screen Mirroring focuses on gallery photo in split screen

Greetings!

I tried to find a solution to this issue on my own, but I haven’t been able to find what I am looking for.

To summarise, when I am trying to project my iPad through Screen Mirroring to my computer I want to use Split Screen mode, Procreate running on the right side of the screen and Gallery on the left for references.

Issue: when I am in the gallery section with an open album the screen mirroring was receiving the full screen, both side of the Split Screen visible, but the moment I select a photo from the gallery - the Screen Mirror focuses on it, making it take up the whole screen, no matter what I do in the other app. As soon as I close the photo to return to the album view - screen mirror returns to showing the Split Screen. How do I fix this? I tried looking in the settings, but I haven’t found anything there, and I am starting to feel a little stupid, as if I am missing something really simple, like a priority switch or something? Any help will be appreciated!
