Screen stays black after opening MacBook Air M3, except mouse is visible and moves.

Laptop awakens, but screen stays completely black, except for moving mouse, and sometimes the image of a frozen mouse cursor.

Also, if a video was playing in Safari or Chrome, you can hear the audio playing.

Only solution found so far...hold down power button/reboot.

It has latest OS. Wrong MacBook Air chosen below. It's a brand new computer (1 month old).
