Why is Siri talking on my iPad's hello screen after reset?

I got a refurbished iPad delivered, before I got it out of the box I noticed Siri was talking on the hello screen.

Ive assumed that normally Siri is off so either the top button got knocked during transit or the person sending it was function testing it before posting and they left Siri on.

So should I be concerned about this or is it normal for Siri to be active on a reset iPad? I can’t image the deliver driver would appreciate having to listen to ‘Hello hola bonjour…’ during the journey.

That was probably the setup voiceover, not Siri per se, but either way that would not be normal. Unless you got this "refurbished" iPad directly from Apple, there's no way of knowing what exactly this "refurbishment" process might have done. I'd recommend restoring the iPad to factory settings:

to be sure that nothing is left on the iPad that might cause issues or compromise your security.

If you got the iPad directly from Apple, that might be an indication of a problem and I'd suggest talking to Apple Support about it. Just bumping the power button would not turn on the iPad, and I've never received a device from Apple directly that was already powered on.

Regards.
