Opt out of Starlink coverage on iPhone?

I saw that Apple would be partnering with Starlink for satellite messaging coverage and I'd like to ensure that there is a way to opt out of this as a personal choice.

There are two separate satellite-related communications paths associated with Apple,kPhone, given the recent announcement.

There is the original out-of-coverage satellite access provided by Apple, and that coverage involves Globalstar.

There is now the recently-announced direct-to-satellite cellular, and that depends on the chosen cellular carrier and cellular plan. That includes the T-Mobile coverage (currently in beta) involving Starlink.

If you don’t want any dealing with SpaceX Starlink, then you’ll want to discuss that with T-Mobile if they’re your carrier, if (when?) the T-Mobile direct-to-satellite beta concludes with general coverage availability. Or discuss that preference with whatever other terrestrial carriers might eventually add Starlink coverage, or with whatever carriers might align with Kuiper*.

The recent announcement around Apple was the addition of Apple iPhone to the T-Mobile beta, as that beta was previously only available to Android devices.

*if and when the Kuiper constellation comes online, and if and when Kuiper then adds direct-to-satellite coverage.

It’s mandatory for t-mobile users. I can literally see it right now. You aren’t going to just gas lite me. It doesn’t say anything about beta. It literally says demo then you have it. No info about how to remove it or what it was. If you aren’t doing to help stop commenting non sense.

Who is "gaslighting" whom? You are the one who hasn't provided any external sources to support your position. On the other hand, regular posters here have been providing you with links to sources.

Please provide a link to any reliable source that says the service is mandatory. People here are always willing to learn new things.

I want nothing to do with Starlink and Elon Musk. I have been an iPhone user for many years. But I will switch to an Android if I am not given an option so I don’t have to connect with Starlink. I don’t have T-Mobile as a carrier, thank goodness. And my software updates are turned off. No more secret partnerships please for Apple, especially with someone like Musk.

Really? Did you not read anything past the first post? Great idea. Go to Android. No one cares. But how disappointed you'll be to learn Android has had access to Starlink THROUGH T-MOBILE far longer than iPhone has had access THROUGH T-MOBILE.

Hello~ Another user in another thread said that they were going to throw all of their Apple devices in the Gulf of America so as long as you don’t do that and pollute our precious waterways then I am fine with your decision. Take care. Oh…Android has been doing this same thing with Starlink for much longer so a landline may be your only choice…

What are you going to replace your Apple products with? All Android phones already have StarLink service through T-Mobile.
