Why is wifi on Apple TV so slow?

I have an Apple TV 4K model - I don't know if it is 2nd or 3rd gen (I'm not home and able to check the model number). I do a lot of video streaming, and much of my viewing is using an iPTV (internet protocol TV) server. I upgraded my home's network speed to about 200 mbps, and when sitting in the room with my TV, "Speedtest" on my cell phone shows 200-250 mbps download speed, but the Apple TV in the same room and with the same app installed on it will show 50-80 mbps. The result is that my iPTV buffers more frequently than it should - and thus pauses what I'm watching. My router is on the same floor, only one room away. I could just run an ethernet cord to the Apple TV, but that requires some complicated work in my home, so I'm trying to just use WiFi.

Any opinions here? Maybe it's not the speed, but bandwidth... But even when no one else is using WiFi in the home, I find the same problem.

Thanks for any tips or suggestions.

That indicates that there is interference. Even with that lower speed though it should be more than enough to stream 4K films (let alone IPTV) so it's probably fluctuating even lower.

You could run a diagnostic test on your computer which will show the current condition of your local network (the popular ones used to be istumbler and netsumbler for Mac and PC respectively but that may have changed). Other devices in the area can often be a cause as well as other wireless appliances, changing the channel on router to one that isn't so crowded can also make a difference.
