Messaging from iMac to Android phones

I would like to send text messages to Android phones from my iMac. Is there any way to do this? Thanks.

Yes but only thru an iPhone.

You “need” the phone as it contains the telephony components needed to transmit SMS / MMS / RCS “texts” to ‘droids.
