• For (A.) You can’t.
• For (B.) Use the search bar at the top of the window

For (A.): Recommend this to Apple:

Do your Part: Provide Apple with feedback on this, recommending that they make this an option.  Apple may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what three customers prefer and what to include in updates to come. Apple will know nothing of your ideas, if you don’t provide them tot hem.

1. Go Here: Feedback - iCloud - Apple
2. Select: "iCloud Drive" for the "Feedback Type"
3. Comment: that you want to be able to search in icloud.com/iclouddrive. Include the URL of this thread.
4. Proceed from there as necessary

“How do I search my iCloud drive?: I’m online looking at my iCloud landing page. I open Drive. I see before me almost a Finder, but there is no search field. What am I missing? Viewing on iPad.”

2. Tap: your name
3. Tap: iCloud
4. Tap: Select All in “Saved to iCloud”

6. Toggle On: iCloud Drive
7. Open: iCloud Drive app
