Most optimization must come from the game developers. If the software (code) is optimized for the hardware (iPhone) it runs more efficiently and uses much less CPU cycles and graphics processing. This allows the iPhone to run cooler and maintain maximum performance for longer periods of time.
Are you referring to Games under the Game Center, Arcade (App Store), or third-party gaming apps?
