What’s the point of Face ID if I still need, a password?

Am not seeing the advantages of face ID if it requires the password EVERY SINGLE TIME MY IPHONE LOCKS!!!!’l I really hate this nanny security measure.

There are no settings to. Change this.

all this does; is make it harder and more annoying to use my iPhone, it does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO SECURE MY IPHONE.

am going back to zero passwords and absolutely no face id.

iPhone 11 Pro Max, iOS 18

You should NOT have to enter your passcode every time you unlock your phone. When you open Settings > Face ID and Security and scan down to Use Face ID For: Have you turned on the switches for iPhone Unlock, etc.?

Also, by chance is your phone managed by your employer or school, by chance? If yes to either, they have the administrative privilege to require using your passcode instead of Face ID. And if that is the case for you, you'll need to discuss this with the IT folks at your work or school.
