Keyboard and trackpad malfunction every time I close Macbook Air

Hello, I have a 2022 Macbook Air (M2, 8G, Sonoma 14.6.1) and I've been having problems with my keyboard and trackpad ever since I put it in the safe of the hotel I'm staying in. Whenever I close and reopen my laptop, the keyboard seems to be jammed and types loads of spaces or odd symbols (it's slightly different each time after I close/open the laptop) and my trackpad is really glitchy. It is resolved every time I turn the key repeat off and and tracking speed to low, then back to normal. However, when I close and then reopen my laptop the issues are back. It doesn't look like anything is jammed in the keyboard and there doesn't appear to be any other issues with the laptop. It was also only in the safe for a little over an hour along with my iPad (haven't checked for issues there yet). Any idea what might be going on and how I can permanently fix it? Thank you!

Track Pad and Keyboard Issues in Safe:

A. Overheating;

It may be expansion getting in way, coming from condensation from humidity and heat (something a dehumidifier is intended to help with).

B. Boot in Safe Mode:

Boot in Safe Mode. In Safe Mode, login items do not load at log in, certain System Preferences are set aside, and damaged system files (caches) are fixed. So, boot into it, seeing what happens with this issue.

C. Single-Out this User:

See what happens when you crate a new user. Do you still get this error? If so, it is the macOS giving you the issue? If not, then it is the current user giving you the issue. If so, then it is an issue with the entire macOS, which may come down to reinstalling the macOS.

As a last resort…

D. Reinstall the macOS:

Nothing would be lost. It's just that misplaced items would be placed back to where they should be and corrupt system files would be replaced by clean files. Go Here: Reinstall macOS - Apple Support. Use the third bulleted method: [command + r].  Important: Prior to installing an update or performing a reinstallation, to prevent data loss, be sure to Back up your Mac with Time Machine.
