Can I erase my iPhone without losing iPad data?

My iPhone has taken a dive…not working well and I cannot unlock it as the #1 does is not accepted. It seems my only choice is to erase the phone to factory settings. My question is: If I do this, will the info on my iPad also be erased?

Erasing your iPhone using the Settings app will only erase the specific device on which you are performing the action. This means that any other iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Apple device signed in with the same Apple ID will remain unaffected. The data removal applies exclusively to the selected iPhone, deleting all personal information, settings, and installed apps from that device. However, if iCloud features such as iCloud Photos, iCloud Drive, or Messages in iCloud are enabled, the data stored in iCloud will still be accessible from other devices unless it is manually deleted from iCloud itself.

  1. Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone.
  2. Tap Erase All Content and Settings.
  3. If asked, enter your iPhone passcode or Apple Account password.
  4. Tap Continue to confirm. If you have an eSIM, you can choose to erase your eSIM or keep it.
