iPhone won’t connect to roaming network

“Roaming” usually refers to connecting to a cellular carrier other than your own when you are outside or your cellular providers coverage area.

Your carrier would have to enable roaming on your account in order for you to use other networks. There is usually a cost associated with that as well.

Please clarify your situation. Generally speaking, your cellular carrier’s coverage area is not limited to your house.
