Beginning with macOS 14.x Sonoma, there is no way to fix the problem except by restoring from a backup (you would need to restore the user account and the system wide Settings as well)....this will cause you to lose any data that you created/modified since the last backup, but if that does not work, then you will need to perform a clean install of macOS by first erasing the disk followed by reinstalling macOS & restoring from a backup.

Edit: I need to make a slight correction....if you have another macOS admin user account on this Mac, then you can use the instructions in the following Apple article to fix the mistake even with macOS 14.x+:

If you have your data backed up with Time Machine or another solution, then the easiest way to get back to working order will be to boot in recovery and reinstall macOS. Worst case scenario is that you'll also have to wipe the drive.

How to reinstall macOS - Apple Support

If you don't have a backup of your stuff, then before you wipe the drive and reinstall macOS you should be patient and allow your post to be seen here by others to who might know how to walk you through undoing the damage you did to your user account. 🤞🏽🍀
