Using iMac to remove some but not all music on iPod

I have a 5th generation iPod Touch, solely for music, which I previously managed using iTunes on my Windows pc. I now have an M3 Mac and want to delete some old music and replace with new. However, I can’t make any progress. When I connect the iPod and open Finder, I can see my device but not anything stored on it. Whenever I select Artists, Albums, Genre etc, nothing appears in the window below. The only thing I can select is backup or Sync, but then it warns that everything stored will be deleted. About 75% of my music was ripped from cd,s and therefore not available in my current music library despite it being transferred from my old pc before disposal. Can anyone provide help please?

It can only be synced to one music library at a time. It is not synced to the music library on your new Mac. your only option is going to be to wipe it and re-sync.

Did you transfer the ripped music from your old pc to your new Mac?

If not, you’re going to have to re-rip the music and import it to your Music library.

If you no longer own the physical CDs, you no longer own the music.
