You cannot.

You can rent iCloud+ storage - but that's for synchronization and backups and isn't a substitute for device storage. With one exception: If you are using iCloud Photos, and you enable "Optimize iPhone Storage" on your phone, you are giving the phone to store reduced-quality, space-saving local copies of photos as it sees fit. iCloud retains the full-size copies; the idea being that the phone can re-download those, on demand, as needed, later.

If you are currently storing a lot of full-size photos and videos on your phone, that feature could help you free up a it of space for other stuff.

But note that it is completely automatic: You can't control when the phone decides to substitute space-saving copies for full-size ones, or vice versa.

It would not affect your cellular connection, nor would it affect searching with a search engine like Google or Bing.

But you do need device storage for things like:

  • iOS; updating iOS
  • Apps
  • Photos and videos
  • Local copies of music, movies, and TV shows that you want to be able to watch when you do not have a Wi-Fi or cellular connection to the Internet – or are trying to avoid using a lot of cellular data.

Thought so. But was hoping. Thank you everybody for advising me.
Oh, one more question does the memory shortage the effect your searching when you’re out and about away from Wi-Fi?

If you flll most of your storage, that wouldn't affect the speed of a cellular data connection, or the ability to do Google searches, Bing searches, or whatever. I would advise against trying to fill the storage to the "very last byte."
