How do I reset forgotten user password for Touch ID on MacBook Air?

When I try to add a fingerprint for Touch ID, I forgot the password for the user (My name on the Macbook). How do I reset or retrieve the password?

Lost login for MacBook. Fingerprint isn't working, either. At the time I changed from a password login to a fingerprint with my new MacBook Air, I also changed the password. And cannot find my note of it. The fingerprint will not work. I have exhausted my list of potential passwords. The first one I was using does not work now. Every attempt kicks back a longer waiting period before I can try another password. I have a developer account with Apple and correspondence about that account that I set up with the MacBook. I can access the correspondence in my gmail on my iPhone, on this (Microsoft) computer, and on my Android phone. How can I get my MacBook to open for me again? I have an app waiting to be published through Apple. Thanks for the help!

you can reset the password using terminal .

Command : resetpassword
