Can't open my kindle books due to new kindle app requirements

My Kindle App for macOS 10.15 (Catalina) is no longer supported. New Kindle App requires macOS12. My 12 year old MacBook Pro will not update that far. How can I access my past purchases? Are they lost to me unless I purchase a new laptop? This one still works great.

You could try accessing Kindle from a Web browser.

See the link directly below "Discover ways to read" on https://read.amazon.com/landing . Catalina is good enough to run the current version of Firefox, so if Amazon's Web site doesn't work well with the old version of Safari that is in Catalina, you could try accessing the site with Firefox.
