That’s an odd issue that I haven’t personally seen myself or across any other Car Play users. However, it’s not uncommon for certain software updates between vehicles and smartphones to off-center themselves when updates occur.
Potential Causes and Solutions:
1. System Settings:
Uconnect Settings: Ensure that the “New Text Message Pop-up” setting is enabled.
To check this:
• Navigate to the Uconnect system’s main menu.
• Select Settings
• Choose “My Profile”
• Scroll to find “New Text Message Pop-ups” and ensure it’s turned on.
Instrument Cluster Settings: Additionally, verify that the “Phone Pop-ups Displayed In Cluster” setting is active:
• From the main menu, go to “Settings”
• Select “Safety/Driving Assistance”
• Ensure “Phone Pop-ups Displayed In Cluster” is enabled.
2. Apple CarPlay Integration:
It’s also possible that certain notifications are managed through your iPhone’s settings. Ensure that CarPlay is configured to allow message notifications:
• On your iPhone, navigate to “Settings”
• Select “Notifications”
• Choose “Messages”
• Ensure that “Allow Notifications” is turned on and that alerts are set to display in CarPlay.
3. Software Updates:
Uconnect System: Check if there are any available updates for your Uconnect system, as updates often resolve known issues.
4. Reset and Reconnect:
Sometimes, resetting the connection between your iPhone and the Uconnect system can resolve issues. On your iPhone, forget the Uconnect Bluetooth connection and remove the paired phone from your Uconnect. Reconnect as normal.
