Why does my Apple Watch keep detecting falls and call 911?

since the last software update my Apple Watch model MWT52LL/A keeps insisting it appears I suffered a serious fall. It happens even when I am just walking around. Last night it called 911 twice. This problem appears to have been happening off and on for other customers for quite some time, at least since 2018, whether a watch is new or old. It only recently started for me. Is Apple ever going to get their act together and fix this issue (rhetorical question of course)?

Your sensor failed. Disable the feature and take your watch to the Apple Store for service.

This has never been an issue for me and in my opinion it is pretty accurate. It detects when I do rarely fall but it doesn’t give me random alerts like that. If this does bother you and you think this feature might not be of use to you, you can go ahead and disable this feature. Manage Fall Detection on Apple Watch - Apple Support (CA)
