Use Time Machine to create a backup of your old Mac on and external USB drive. Then transfer your files to your new Mac using the Migration Assistant and that TM drive. If the drive has a USB-A type connector, then use either an inexpensive USB-A to USB-C plug adapter or USB-A/C cable to connect it to your new computer.
