Hallmark Studio Greeting Card program not working on my iMac after updating to Sequoia 15.3

For years I have been using a Hallmark Studio greeting card program that worked very well.

I recently updated (upgraded) my iMac to Sequoia 15.3 and now the Hallmark program crashes.

I have checked with Hallmark and they admit to their program not working with Sequoia ( they are hoping for a patch in the future). So far I have been unable to find a greeting card program that I know will work on Sequoia. Has any one out there have a solution to this situation?

Check out Cardia from Addison Software in the App Store. It does not have a catalog of images but you can find any image you want on the internet and use that. It works with Mojave all the way to the latest Sequoia and is regularly updated. And it's only for Macintosh. No Windows nonsense.

I agree extremely POOR programing but I have too many years and projects with this program that I don't want to lose. So, if I can get it to work somewhat for now - I will do that. I did get an email from Hallmark indicating they were aware of the issues (probably not ALL of them, though) and were working on it. I would prefer to see a working product rather than one everyone has to "rig" to work - if there are that many issues - don't release it. I did ask them if they really didn't care about Mac users!

I found that V22 works (mostly) with the V23 loaded. I can't open any projects from the folder I keep them in but if I open it in V23 and then go to V22 I can "open recent". I then delete everything in that project and create a new one and save it as usual. I can open it until it is no longer an "open recent" item. V22 stopped working properly when I upgraded to Sequoia. I could "make" it work somewhat to get what I needed, but it works much better with V23 components. HOWEVER - it still sucks that this new version is such a mess.

Hallmark Card Studio for MAC OS

V23 does not work on either of our MACs, Sequoia or Tahoe. The text box expands horizontally and will not stay the size of the card.  The text tool bar appears over the text so you can't see it. any changed fonts or sizes do not get applied until you click away. This version so far has been a real pain, nothing like the older version that worked like a charm. This is a terrible release of what was a great application. I really wonder what the implementation team did to test this before the release. It definitely has some BNIG problems, at least on our Macs. PLEASE get this fixed or my wife will go crazy.

I have v22 and v23. I have Tahoe 26.1. I have been using v22 by using ‘open recent’ since adding v23 projects don’t open in v22. I did receive an email from Hallmark saying they were aware of issues and were working on it.

V22 stopped working with upgrade to Sequoia but does work once I added V23 with the exception of opening existing projects in my card folder. So…I have been opening recent projects and redoing and renaming and saving in V22. Not an ideal option but I did get my Christmas cards made!

Have you used the Hallmark v23 with Sequoia 15.3 yet. It seems to work OK, but not as “bug free” as their v22 before the OS update broke it.

I am also curious if anyone is successfully using Hallmark Card Studio v23 with iOS Tahoe 26.x I am delaying my OS upgrade until I can get verification that is really does work.

thanks in advance!

I purchased the Hallmark for Macs on 4 December, 2025, and after trying to use the program I requested a refund from Hallmark, which I received 13 Dec 2025.

When I used the program, it did not print information as it was displayed on the print preview window. Letters were on top of each other, upside down or phrases did not print even though they appeared correct in the preview screen. I originally thought I had made errors, but I re-booted my computer as well as the Hallmark program and the errors still existed.

In case anyone else is keeping track - since Thanksgiving morning I have 78 emails from Hallmark and Advantquest advertising a new version. Some are for the Macintosh version some are for the Windows version. It would be really really great if the person sending all these emails brought the same level of enthusiasm to the people that are working on the actual application.

I just downloaded the "new" version and I am not liking it! I am finding it difficult to work with....the envelopes print with a red border! I see no where to control this.... If there isn't an Update for this soon I am going to ask for refund. I always order the disc just in the event I have to reload it.... Really disappointed as I have used Hallmark for quite some time now (since I changed to a Mac from Windows (which I still have but really don't use anymore)). I make all my cards (and my adult kids cards also) - Christmas is coming and I am going to have to work with the V22 program which WILL work but only if I choose an existing card and then modify it - can't create NEW card. Not happy....

Although I haven’t as many issues as others report with the new program, i totally agree that it has become annoying to see at least one, if not two or three, emailed ads for at least one of the two configurations, Windows or Mac. At least they now finally do present a Mac version. But why flood my Inbox with them, expecting me to order all over again so soon, esp. given I haven’t even been able to use the year-old one but a month or two.
