Apple's Weather application presents an amalgamation of weather forecasts from multiple sources. None of these are in real-time, nor specifically indicative (or accurate) of present or future weather events overhead. There is nothing you can do about the accuracy of Apple's Weather application.

Here in the U.S., I use the National Weather Service's webpage (weather.gov) with my zip code entered. The local weather relay for them is at the airport that is five miles across town, and its weather information is relayed from 70 miles away to the East. Far more accurate than Apple's Weather application…

For actual NEXRAD color radar weather tracking of severe storms right down to the size of hail in the storm cell, I use RadarScope which gives me ample time to protect the car from approaching large hail activity. I use RadarScope on macOS, iOS, iPadOS, and on my Apple TV 4K hardware.
