Photo Search for photo names doesn't work with new Sequoia

Just uploaded Sequoia 15.3 onto iMac 3.2 GHz 6-core Intel Core i7; 16 GB 2667 MHz DDR4.

Previously running Sonoma with Photo Search working properly.

Now, attempting any search on photo name fails completely.

Message is: "No Results. There were no results. Try a new search."

Not exactly delighted with this.

Is there some way to make it work properly with the new operating system?

Thanks.

As a test launch Photos with the Option key held down and create a new, test library.  Import some photos and test to see if the same problem persists. You may have to wait a few minutes for Photos to scan the photos.

Does the probe persist? This tells us if the problem is limited to your current library or is more wide spread.

After the computer being on for about 60 hours, Search in Photo manages to find 3 photos by a particular title when there should be dozens. Photo still has no normal functionality... can't see Albums list in display, can't delete/delete/rename/etc. any Album.

I have just done what you suggested. Thank you. That is, created a new, test library and imported a few photos. The display and functionality look normal. So, I guess the current library is corrupted somehow?

As with any album, right-click for a pull-down menu:

I keep a Temporary Smart Album handy near the top of my album list. I don't delete it, so I can quickly set new criteria for a new search. I keep most other Smart Albums is a Smart Album folder.

… I can only see them (or any other Albums now) by Photos>View>Collections>Albums (whereas previously, Albums were conveniently visible in a panel on the left-side of the Photos screen).

Albums has always been a in a similar spot. I found this from 2022-- I'm not sure if it's Ventura or Sonoma:

with my albums and folders are below this.

and this is now:

So there are some extra things above albums, but there's no longer Albums>My Albums, just Albums-- a bit simpler. Most of my albums are organized into folders.

Like other sections, Albums can be opened or closed for a cleaner look.
