DCP Panic Error on Mac M2 Air
Hi all,
I am a Mac M2 Air user. I've suffered from the "Kernel Panic: DCP Panic Error" for over 1 year.
I bought this computer in 2023/02. In the first half-year, everything worked quite well. However, after a certain system update, such "Kernel Panic: DCP Panic Error" started to happen occasionally, sometimes frequently.
The characteristic of it is that computer itself is not able to be waked up when it is in the sleep mode. All I can see is the black screen, but with keyboard light on, which means at that moment, the computer is still working. However, after a couple seconds, it would restart automatically, sometimes I need to force to reboot it.
I did some bug reproduction:
- When you are in login mode (to key-in password to login), press "ESC" several times, this 100% will trigger "Kernel Panic:DCP Panic Error"
- Close the lid at certain frequency (can't be waked up from the sleep mode)
- Use Touch pad to logout (can't be waked up from the sleep mode)
For 2&3, the issue is not guaranteed to happen.
(This issue report pop up when I reboot the computer and login)
I searched on the Internet and found lots of people have such an issue for quite a while (I am pretty sure it's been over a year), but it seems that Apple haven't found an effective way to deal with such issue, nor a major recall. I think Apple themselves should be more active to fix this issue. Whenever I click the report button on the issue report, I really hope that there exists an official solution to resolve this issue. But in fact, nothing useful happen, even I contact apple support, and they mentioned they have never heard about this issue before (??????), which I don't believe at all.
Please APPLE, FIX THIS ISSUE instead of responding something meaningless.
