Recovering water-damaged iPhone 5 photos when iCloud fails

I have a water damaged iPhone 5. It went through the highest levels of apple help ages ago and nothing was able to be recovered on my iCloud. Is there another way to get the photos off the iPhone? It doesn’t work so cracking into it is an option.

There is no way to get any data off a damaged iPhone. Opening it won’t work, because all storage is encrypted. Actually, the iPhone 5 was hackable; the FBI actually got the contents of one terrorist’s phone. It cost them $980 to a forensics firm. If it’s worth that much to you they may be able to help, but they will charge whether they succeed or not.

Are you sure you never backed it up?

Oh it was all backed up, and then all of a sudden, poof it was all gone! Apple spent months trying to figure out what happened to just kind of stop and say they don’t what happened. It was all there October 31st and Nov 1st I opened my photos and there was not one left. I honestly cried because I had just spent 4 months travelling, which is why I was so adamant of backing up the photos.
