How can I fix an unstable trackpad on my MacBook Pro Late 2013?
My Retina Macbook Pro core i7 15” late 13’ U Model No: A1398 has been a workhorse for the past 11 years. Its had 2 batteries, a speaker and now in need of some love. I've been blown away with the relaybily and durability of this old machine. Cost me an arm and leg but paid for itself.
Last year it started pausing video when I carried across room with screen open. I gathered the shell was flexing which activate the trackpad. A month or so later the trackpad would play up (select and not releasing, not clicking). I've done all problem solving strategies(reset smc pram, disk 1st aid, cleaning with bank note and contact cleaner) Hitting it underneath like old TV works! so I need to open her up and check if battery is swelling.
I might just fit a new trackpad. Are the AliExpress OME? I've sourced another supplierquite a price difference.
There's also a few on on n Ebay. I'm not sure which way to go. Any suggestions appreciated. Cheers
