Apparently Apple links your contacts to an email address, however no one thought the process through. Somehow a default selected email address belonged to my previous employer. When I left my job and started elsewhere, I obviously deleted my old address from my phone. ALL MY CONTACTS HAVE BEEN REMOVED FROM MY PHONE. Apple - the clever brand
If you mean that you had an iCloud account through your previous email address and all your contacts were stored in iCloud, you should still be able to connect to that same Apple Account and regain access to those contacts. I still can access an Apple Account created at an employer I left eight years ago. If you had two-factor authentication on that old account and no longer have access to any trusted devices to receive verification, see:
