How to permanently disable dark mode on iPhone?

I have been trying to make dark mode go away. I have tried all the things that are suggested as I’ve looked online. None of those methods are working.

How do I fix persistent Dark Mode on iPhone 13 Pro, iOS18.5? This issue has persisted through several software updates. I see others describing a very similar issue. I've tried to follow any suggestions that I've found here in the Community Forum, to no avail, including closing apps, resetting the phone (quick press Volume UP, quick press Volume down, hold button on right of phone 20 seconds until apple startup icon appears, etc.). Any other ideas?

Settings/Display & Brightness and tap Light, then turn off Automatic if it is on.
