The Control Center in iOS has long displayed indicators when apps access the camera, microphone, or location services.

• Camera & Microphone Indicators:
  • Apple introduced the orange (microphone) and green (camera) indicators in iOS 14 (2020) to enhance privacy.
  • If an app accesses the camera, a green dot appears in the status bar.
  • If the microphone is in use, an orange dot appears.
• Control Center Icons:
  • When you swipe down to open Control Center, it provides more details about recent access to the camera, microphone, or location services.
  • If FaceTime recently accessed the camera, it will show the FaceTime app name along with a camera icon.
  • Similarly, if Location Services was recently used, a location arrow will appear.
  • This feature was already present in iOS 15 and 16, well before iOS 18.

In iOS 18.3, these indicators still function the same way as they did in previous versions.

Have you not noticed in the Home Screen App that the FaceTime app is Green Colour?

Location Services is Blue.

This color feature remains unchanged in the latest iOS update. It's possible you're confusing it with the green or orange dot indicators.
