Trying to print from my MacAir to HP but getting message 'Printer is in use" Yet I can copy on the printer. I tried restarting laptop twice. Help!

Are you using the macOS 13 Ventura indicated by the equipment line?
If a Wi-Fi router is involved, have you tried to power-cycle the router and the printer as well?

Can you confirm the model?
HP doesn’t list that “HP office Jet 2500 series“ model.
Might that be LaserJet 2500, or OfficeJet 250 Mobile All-in-One Printer, or a DesignJet model, maybe?
No mention of AirPrint in the tech specs HP OfficeJet 250 printer either, other than in what may be generic-to-HP the legal fine print.
That HP OfficeJet 250 printer looks to be entirely dependent on HP printer drivers too, without any other printing paths, no IPP/IPPS, and no AirPrint.
Hi, Its HP office Jet 2500 series, connected via WiFi. I tried disconnecting the router but I still get the same message. I have copied severalpages so the printer itself works fine. There must be a laptop/printer connection issue? Elizabeth
