Replacing Screen Retain Touch ID

My iphone 8 plus screen broke just around the speaker and front camera. I bought the phone from eBay and it needed some work. I have replaced the battery and back glass. While replacing the battery I realized that someone (not from apple) has worked on the phone before because there were a few missing screws but the screen also was aftermarket. Although the touch id works the phone knew that the home button didn't. I was very confused by that but whatever. My question is if I replace the screen will I be able to not only retain touch id but also get my home button working again. I know mostly everything about the phone so if you need more info ask questions.
