I have an "old" iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2020) running on a "3.8 GHz 8-Core inter Core i7". I have 40GB of RAM. Actually it is still running on macOS Monterey (12.7.6).
What is the latest version of Mac OS that would run on this iMac without giving me performance problems and/or compatibility issues ?

I have a 2019 27" iMac and Sequoia runs fine. However, I do have some app compatibility issues so I run Sequoia from an external TB drive and keep Monterey on my internal drive..
