I cannot delete a file that appears in the files app. When I try, this is basically what I see “The file _______ cannot be removed because it does not exist”. How do I get rid of this?

I am using an iPad Pro, 11” (M2 processor) and running iPadOS 18.3. Even after powering down and restarting the problem persist whereby I cannot delete a file that shows up in the files app. When I attempt to do so, I received the following message “The file _______ cannot be removed because it does not exist”. I've tried everything I can think of which isn't really that much but the problem pushes I was hoping somebody could help me out. Does anybody know the answer?

If your iPad is not operating as expected, perform a forced-restart - not a simple shutdown and restart of your iPad. The forced-restart will clear cached data:

Force restart iPad (models with Face ID or with Touch ID in the top button)

If your iPad doesn’t have the Home button, do the following:

  1. Press and quickly release the volume button nearest to the top button.
  2. Press and quickly release the volume button farthest from the top button.
  3. Press and hold the top button.
  4. When the Apple logo appears, release the top button.
